Open House Tour

Hi!  I want The Truth About FSBO Community to be THE place you can come to for cutting edge advice and some common sense to help you sell for sale by owner using the “FSBO 2.0″ model.

First, I want to point out that you can change the size and shape of the print to make it easier to read by clicking on the symbols “Aa <>” in the upper right corner.

For those of you who are not familiar with blogs, I want to take you on a quick “open house tour” so you can easily find your way around.  For seasoned blog users, take a moment so you understand how I’ve set things up.

The home page is the page you land on when you visit The Truth About FSBO Community.

Pages: Across the top of the home page is a navigation bar with links to all the “pages”.  Links to all the pages are also at the top of the left panel under “Pages”.  These are “sticky” posts – important information that I want everyone who comes to our community to see.  If you haven’t already, read these pages first.

Posts/Comments: Posts are what a community blog is all about.  They get a discussion started.  Comments are responses to posts.  On this blog, you’re encouraged to ask questions (more on that on the House Rules page).  For our purposes, questions and comments are the same thing.

You can find posts and their associated comments in several different ways.  The home page shows the most recent posts in the main panel.  To see a post’s comments, click on the “Comments” link below the title of the post.  There is also a list of all the posts on the left under “Most Recent Posts”.

You can also search posts in several ways:

Search By Category – Click the drop down list.
Search By Date – Click the drop down list and choose a month.
Search By Topic – Click one of the tags in the “tag cloud”.

The most recent comments are located under “Most Recent Comments”.

“Helpful Products/Services” lists products and services I recommend in The Truth About FSBO system.  These are the best tools out there to leverage your time and money.

Registration/Login: These functions are at the bottom of the left panel.  You can LOOK at everything on the community blog, but if you want to POST a comment or question, you must be logged in.  This is simple to do.

The first time you log in, you must register.  Just click on “Register” and a form will appear asking for a username and email address of your choice.

Once you have entered these, click “Register”.  You will receive an email at the email address you specified that will have your username, a randomly generated password, and a link to log in.  Click this link.  You will be taken back to the login form where you will enter your username and the password.

After that, click “Log In” and you will be taken to a page called “Profile” that shows the information you have previously entered.  That’s it – you are now registered!

You can change your password on the profile page to something more memorable for you.  You can add or change a couple of other bits of information too.  After you’re done, click “Update Profile” to save.  You can now return to the blog by clicking “Visit Site” at the top of the page.

Whenever you want to post comments in the future, all you have to do is click “Log in”, fill in the username and password fields in the form that appears, and click the “Log In” button.  Easy!

Feeds: Also under “Register/Login”, you can subscribe to RSS feeds for either my posts or for all comments.  For posts, click on “Entries RSS” and for comments, click on “Comments RSS”.

That’s the tour!  Read the House Rules page to learn the best ways to use the community to your benefit.
